About

Welcome to our blog, “Best Tea and Honey!”  We are from Chicago, and we are dedicated to spreading the word on loose-leaf tea, the best brew in the world!  We manage an online store called Red Leaf Tea, a labor of love.  Enough with the tea bags!  We would like everyone to learn how much more satisfying a cup of real, fresh tea leaves can be, compared to a mass-produced bag of tea dust.  To this effect, we have created this blog (and others) to transform ourselves from simple tea fanatics into tea evangelists!  We hope to introduce the incredibly diverse and exhilarating universe of loose-leaf tea to a nation of new consumers.  As a bonus of sorts, this blog will include lots of facts and figures on honey, which is an integral part of a good cup of tea for so many of our readers and customers.

We created Red Leaf Tea in 2005.  Since then, we have steadily expanded our operations and supplier list.  Today we can regularly offer our clientele gourmet Chinese Pu Erh tea, the latest blends of Rooibus tea from South Africa, and the top new Darjeeling black teas of India!

We hope you enjoy our blog entries on tea and honey, featuring some tea history and health benefit information.  In Ancient China, tea bricks were once used as money, and exceptional Pu Erh bricks can sell for more than five hundred dollars!  Did you know that New Zealand’s manuka honey has been scientifically proven to be a great antibiotic ointment!  For more notes like these, please, stick around.  “Best Tea and Honey” is the blog for you!

In addition to maintaining this great store of teas, we also constantly add to and market honeys, sugars, tea service sets, and other supplemental items.  Our stock of honeys includes exotic international brands and Hawaiian collections, too!  Check around our website, and enjoy all of the specials that we offer.  We have organic cookies, rock candy stirring sticks, and unique Oriental brewing equipment available, all perfect for deepening your experience of gourmet tea.

Lets not forget, though, that Red Leaf Tea exists primarily to bring new and exciting flavors to your doorstep.  We keep in stock a fantastic list of teas from all over the world.  The classic black English Breakfast tea can be purchased here, along with rare Chinese bricks of tea called Pu Erh.  The delicate green and white teas of China are well represented.  Herbal teas, or tisanes, are also popular items from our inventory.  Forget about those supermarket shelves with five-month old boxes of teabags.  Buy from Red Leaf and enjoy fresh tea, freshly imported and ready for your teapot!
